Optical Scan Testing
Michigan Elections Test Charts, Test Decks and Preliminary Testing of Voting Equipment
During an election, your valuable time is busy with election preparation. Between Voter Registration, handling phone calls, questions and training election workers, your time is limited.
We can help ease some of the work surrounding your election by offering time saving services for election equipment, coding, testing, setting and supporting your optical scan voting machines.
Our company has been providing testing for hundreds of communities, big and small, since 1994.
Testing is available for the following voting systems:
- Optech Insight
- M100®
- Accuvote®
- AutoMark® ADA system
All testing adheres to Michigan Election Law MCL 168.1-168.992 and MCL 168.771-168.793 for optical scan voting systems.
Full Service Testing for the Optech, Accuvote®, M100® AND AUTOMARK® Systems
Our full service testing provides you with the security and satisfaction that all your Optical Scan machines have been properly tested and set for election day. All preliminary testing adheres to Michigan Election Law MCL 168.1-168.992 and MCL 168.771-168.793 for optical scan voting systems. We provide the following:
- Creation of state predetermined results test chart
- Marking of official ballot test deck
- Setting of voting machine time and date
- Replacement of paper roll and printer ribbon (your supply).
- Ballot guide adjustment to meet ballot size (Optech)
- Running of mandated preliminary test
- Check for machine and test ballot errors
- Seal voting machine and memory pack
- Record preliminary test information in your poll book
- Set voting machine for election day
Optech Insight and Accuvote® Pricing - $220 for the first precinct and $110 for each additional precinct, plus ribbons and paper rolls.
M100® Pricing - $250 for the first precinct and $130 for each additional precinct, plus ribbons and paper rolls. Price increase is due to the longer amount of testing time needed for this equipment. Add $60 per precinct if there are two ballot pages.
AutoMark® Pricing - $150 for the first precinct and then $100 for each additional precinct, plus ribbons.

Test Chart and Test Deck Only
Send us your test ballots and we will create the state mandated test chart and mark your ballots to create the test deck that is needed for you to conduct your preliminary and public test.
$150 for the first precinct and $100 for each additional precinct. Add $60 per precinct for a two page ballot.

Test Chart Only
Send or fax us a copy of your ballot for each precinct and we will create the test chart which will allow you to mark and create your own test deck.
